Key Responsibilities for Sasol Delight Staff
Sasol Delight Food Preparation & Baking
- Baking Operations: Bake Sasol’s approved range of pies, pastries, muffins, and bread rolls according to the daily production planner.
- Deli Assembly: Prepare the signature Sasol Delight grab-and-go range, including fresh sandwiches, wraps, subs, and burgers.
- Portion & Recipe Control: Follow Sasol’s exact ingredient specs to ensure every meal tastes identical, protecting profit margins.
- Waste Tracking: Log all expired items, burnt bakes, and kitchen waste daily into the Sasol inventory system before disposal.
Sasol Brand Merchandising & Sales
- Planogram Compliance: Pack pie warmers, sandwich fridges, and ambient shelves strictly according to Sasol Delight planograms.
- Upselling & Promotions: Actively promote Sasol’s national monthly specials, meal combos, and loyalty point benefits to customers.
- Visual Appeal: Maintain high-density, appetizing food displays with correct, clean Sasol price labeling and allergen tags.
Food Safety & Sasol Audit Compliance
- HACCP & R638 Standards: Clean and sanitize food prep counters, utensils, and display units to pass strict Sasol internal quality audits.
- Temperature Logs: Record fridge, freezer, pie warmer, and core food temperatures every few hours on the official Sasol logs.
- Uniform Standards: Wear the approved Sasol Delight uniform, cap/hairnet, and apron, maintaining immaculate personal grooming.
Stock Management (FIFO)
- First-In, First-Out: Rotate stock rigorously so that older ingredients and pre-made sandwiches are sold first to prevent loss.
- Delivery Checks: Verify that incoming deliveries from approved Sasol suppliers match the delivery notes in temperature and quantity.
Dual-Role Operations (If Required)
- POS Transactions: Switch seamlessly to the main convenience store tills during peak forecourt hours to assist with cash and card payments.
Job Requirements
- Experience: 1–2 years in a fast-food retail environment or a similar forecourt deli (e.g., FreshStop, Wild Bean Café, Shell Select).
- Training: Prior Sasol Delight training or experience with Sasol’s operational systems is a major advantage.
- Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work 24/7 rotational shifts, including 4:00 AM starts for breakfast prep, weekends, and public holidays.
- Compliance Knowledge: Basic understanding of food hygiene regulations (R638)
